The
Campus Health Center is now an on-campus clinic, but was established in 1930
as a facility for maintaining and improving health, instead of a place to go when
one is ill. For this reason, the clinic is called the "Kenkoin."
The Center is engaged in extensive surveys and research on human health theories,
in addition to providing normal medical care, health care and counseling (mental
health care). In addition to providing symptomatic treatment for illnesses and
injuries, the Center has worked to enhance awareness of the need for self-help
efforts. The focus has been on providing a basic understanding of health, along
with health conservation and improvement, taking the approach of preventive medicine.
