COLUMN
The opening of the Tamagawa Gakuenmae Station coincided with the founding of the
campus in April 1929. Currently, the new station building features a shopping
center, but the original train station was built for Tamagawa K-12 & University. At the time
of the opening, the road linking the campus and the station was lined with cherry
blossoms, and even now along the rail line there are many places noted for these
beautiful trees. The surrounding area has developed dramatically and is now known
as Tamagawa Gakuen. The area has emerged as a prominent, upscale residential district. |
