Assessment Date
As well as the end of course exams, each subject in the Diploma Programme also has internal and external assessments. These assessments come in the form of projects, investigations, essays and oral activities.
The following dates are the Tamagawa internal deadlines for the Internal and External Assessments. These dates are shared with students and parents throughout the year.
Internal assessments are graded by the class teacher, who sends the grades to the IBO. The IBO asks for a sample from each class and moderates the grades.
External assessments are not graded by the teacher but are sent off to the IBO for assessment.
Students receive support for all of their internal and external assessments, as well as practice in the form of formative assessments. The weighting, format and assessment criteria for each piece of assessment is included in the student’s subject guide.
The student’s work in each subject is graded internally with the grades and targets going on the students’ Tamagawa report card.
