DP Mission and vision

The mission of Tamagawa Academy is to produce the “whole” individuals who can contribute positively to both Japanese and global society. Tamagawa Academy is determined to cultivate pioneers in life capable of courageously facing challenges without fear of failure despite the many obstacles that may come their way. Tamagawa Academy’s fonder Kuniyoshi Obara stated “Embrace life`s most painful, trying and unfavorable situations with a positive frame of mind”
Our mission here at Tamagawa Academy complements the International Baccalaureate’s, which we fully support and endorse:

• “The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
  To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.
  These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.”

Here in the Diploma Programme, we have used the Tamagawa Academy’s and the International Baccalaureate’s mission statements to create the following mission and vision for the 2017-2018 Academic year.
Mission: To support EAL students throughout the Diploma Programme through high quality Teaching and Learning in an engaging environment.
Vision: A Diploma Programme that is accessible to all, resulting in internationally minded students able to make a contribution to the global community.
