Biosystems & Biofunctions Research Center

The Biosystems & Biofunctions Research Center aims to solve the global challenges of this century -environmental conservation, increased food production and stable energy supplies- by creating technologies and techniques that exploit to the fullest the latent potentials of living organisms. To this end, we are currently addressing the following issues;

  1. Development of a novel agricultural production system using optical semiconductor devices
  2. Study on photomorphogenesis in plants
  3. Development of a plant cultivation system in space
  4. Development of herbicides using natural products and microorganisms
